Change of address and driving licence
Any change of residence must be reported to the competent authority within fourteen days.
The legal deadline
When changing residence, the licence holder must inform the competent authority at the new place of residence of the new address within fourteen days (art. 26 para. 2 OAC).
If the new residence is abroad, the departure must be reported to the previously competent authority within the same time limit.
Other circumstances to report
The same fourteen-day deadline applies to any other circumstance requiring the licence to be replaced (art. 26 para. 1 OAC).
Where to report it
The report is made to the road traffic office of the new canton of residence, usually online or by post depending on the canton.
