Further training course (second phase)

Also known as the "two-phase course", this training is mandatory to obtain the permanent licence after the probationary licence.

Duration and organisation

The further training course lasts seven hours and is given in one day, in groups of six to twelve people. A group is made up of either holders of a category A probationary licence or holders of a category B probationary licence. Each participant takes the training with their own vehicle.

Objectives

The training aims to enable participants to brake quickly and safely using the vehicle's maximum deceleration capacity, and to apply the principles of fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly driving. It also aims to develop their knowledge of the main accident factors, by having them experience driving situations under conditions close to reality.

Deadline to respect

The further training course must be taken within twelve months of the issue of the probationary driving licence.

Certificate

At the end of the training, the organiser issues a certificate of attendance and informs the cantonal authority electronically.
