Agricultural vehicle licence in Switzerland: F and G
Two special categories cover agricultural, forestry and reduced-speed vehicles in Switzerland.
Special category G: from age 14
Special category G covers agricultural and forestry motor vehicles, as well as work carts, motorised carts and tractors registered as industrial vehicles used for agricultural or forestry runs, whose maximum speed does not exceed 30 km/h. The minimum age is 14.
With a tractor driving course recognised by FEDRO, the G licence also authorises driving these same vehicles up to 40 km/h.
Special category F: from age 16 or 18
Special category F covers motor vehicles whose maximum speed does not exceed 45 km/h, with the exception of motorcycles. The minimum age depends on the type of vehicle:
- 16 for work motor vehicles, tractors with a speed not exceeding 45 km/h, motorised carts, and agricultural and forestry vehicles;
- 18 for other category F vehicles.
The F licence also authorises driving special categories G and M.
