Cantonal road traffic offices

Federal rules are the same throughout Switzerland; administrative procedures (fees, forms, exam registration) are handled by the canton.

Each canton has its own road traffic office, responsible for issuing driving licences, registering candidates for exams and collecting fees. The federal rules of the OAC and the LCR apply identically in all cantons; only the practical procedures differ.
